When the Zojirushi came and baked first batch, I just regret I bought this machine too late.
Fresh baked bread is whole new world! I’m living in a big city and there are so many artisan bakery I tried but I can say there is nothing better than the bread just came out from Zojirushi.
The machine is really compact so doesn’t need huge space for it and really cute.
I was considering 2 pound model because some people say 1 pound is too small but I think this is perfect size for small familly. (2 and 1 kid)
The recipe book come with the machine is really good. Best result with the machine.
But if you are Asian (I am Asian), I think Zojirushi’s Japanese recipe book is better for you. It makes more chewy and moist bread like Japanese Hokkaido milk bread.
This model doesn’t have Nut-holder nor yeast-holder. That’s only one thing I feel inconvenient.
Overall, definitely 5 stars.
It’s a bit noisy when Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA is mixing the ingredients, but it dosen’t last a very long period of time on the total time required to bake a bread.
I love the smell of fresh bread in the house when it’s ready.
Overall i am pleased with Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA, with 5 kids in the house, we save big money on baking our own instead of buying bulks of bread at the grocery store. But i need to admit, the quality of the bread we bake with this machine is much better that what the grocery stores have to offer in the area.
Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA machine consistently makes tasty bread and is easy to use, the loaf pan fell apart in about a year. I’ve found it almost impossible to find a replacement. Breadman has had it on backorder for months and cannot tell me when it will be available. Not only that, they quoted me a price that was almost as much as the machine itself — although I was able to I bargain them down. Meanwhile, their customer service department responded to my complaint only with an automatic email response. So,I’m left without a working bread machine for who knows how long. I’ll try another company’s bread machine next time.
I’ve never like machine bread so when my fellow breadaholic proposed getting a machine I was hard against it. However we love to eat artisan breads and pizza so I researched the options and agreed t try Breville bread maker. After using it for 8 months, about 5 times a week, I have to say we both love the Breville bread maker. One feature that we use constantly is the option to customize the oven’s knead, rise, bake profile. I like my pizza crust to rise longer, at a lower temp. He likes to autolyse the whole wheat before adding the other ingredients and… well he likes to change lots of things. It has been fun and a great cost savings.
I did a lot of research on brands and the only other machine that I thought was of the same quality was the Zojirushi, but in the end the Breville offered more flexibility. I did have to call them and get a replacement for the bucket due to the teflon coating not adhering but they replaced it, quick and easy.
I have gone through a few machines and the bread always is like bread machine bread. This one is perfect. Totally non stick makes quick cleanup, an iphone app to control it, even Amazon Alexa can help you. My only complaint would be the instructions. Not the best and most likely translated from another language to english but it was easy to figure out. And one MAJOR thing is to make sure you use flower made for Bread Machines (or at least regular bread flower).
I cannot believe that I have had this little Zojirushi breadmaker for 5 years. I use it to make a fresh loaf of bread every week. Relying on the basic recipes that came with the book, I have improvised all kinds of bread that suit my fancy: red bean and matcha; sesame and walnut; all kinds of dried fruits (e.g., dark cherries, dates, plums, mango, raspberries, blueberries, ginger, orange peels) and nuts (e.g., walnuts, pecans, pistachios). My husband loves them all. I also use the jam functions to help preserve the fresh fruits that are about to turn bad. They are great hits for home-made yogurts, jam for bread, and ice cream. I was just browsing to see if there are newer models because the nonstick basket is wearing a bit. Then, I was reminded that I have had it for 5 years. With regular use of 2-3 times a week for 5 years, the quality of this breadmaker is outstanding!!
Panasonic sd yd-250 has the best bread maker that I have found. This is my third Panasonic bread maker. My first one was too small for my growing family, but still works even though, it is now more than 20 years old. My son now uses it at university. My second one lasted almost 9 years and was used extensively,at least 6 whole wheat loaves a week and sometimes more including pizza dough etc. When I had difficulty finding a Panasonic dealer in my area I bought 2 machines in less than one year that didn’t last. I love Panasonic and know that this bread maker will last more than a few months. We love fresh wholesome bread and this bread maker fits our needs!
I got Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA Home Bakery Virtuoso Plus yesterday and used it right away. It was my 1st time and 1st time owning a bead maker. I have done manually before. I made white recipe and substituted the butter by the olive oil (3tbsp) and dry milk by the liquid almond milk. It worked just fine. Currently as I write this review, the machine is making the French bread.
We love this machine. It is compact, perfect for my tiny counter in the kitchen. It is light and easy to wash.
This machine has everything! This was an upgrade from my current bread machine which I’ve had for over 20 years and has been a real workhorse (in fact I’ll still keep it, it was a Sanyo, for kneading dough). I did a lot of on-line research before purchasing the Breville BBM800XL. I was willing to pay for a premium machine that had lots of presets but also allows customized settings and this fit my needs to the tee. I really wanted a machine that could do sourdough crusty loaves and that’s the first loaf I made. It came out beautifully! I love the interior light so you can see what’s going on. I also like the feature that you can take a loaf from yesterday and just use the “bake only” function to warm it up for dinner. You can also take the dough out and form into braids or individual rolls in the bread pan and then put it back in to bake. Functionality is super easy. I didn’t have any issues with noise or the machine “walking” that some reviewers complain about. It was quieter than my old machine and on my granite counter it didn’t budge an inch. All in all, so far, I’m super pleased with this early birthday present from my hubby. I’ll update if things go haywire.
My wife loves Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA bread maker! There is nothing compact about it. This makes making bread a breeze, just add the ingredients, press a button and voila you will be enjoying bread in 4 hours, only bad thing is smelling bread bake all day and making you hungry
Just got Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA bread machine a few days ago, went to the store to buy the supplies to make our first loaf of bread, this evening I made our family a honey whole wheat 2 pound loaf. It is the first time ever using a bread machine and our kids first time eating fresh baked bread. It was delicious! They told me I most definitely have to make more tomorrow. I’m going to try yeast bread next. Hopefully I’ll get a photo next time before the bread is gone.
First time user/ buyer of a Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA Home Bakery Virtuoso Plus. Very easy to use, just follow instructions and recipe as they tell you. My very first loaf of Gluten free bread came out amazing!! I will make a few adjustments to the recipe to suit my taste but I am impressed with this machine. Add ingredients, set the bread type, push start!
I normally use a standard mixer to knead the bread dough but it just takes a long time to mix the ingredients to the bread texture I’m looking for. And I always have to keep an eye on the mixer. So I finally decide to get Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA Home Bakery Virtuoso Plus. This machine is awesome! All you need to do is pick a setting from the menu and the amount of bread you are going to make, then u put all you ingredients in it n press start and just let the machine do it’s job. The outcome is amazing. The kneaded dough is just beautiful. It’s is effortless, and during the mixing process I can get other things done around the house. I’m excited to try the other functions of this machine. Very easy to use, straightforward.
I bought Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA Home Bakery Virtuoso Plus bread maker because I was told to try gluten free bread.
I have never baked bread before
I don’t use the oven
I don’t even cook.
But I am using this bread maker!
I am actually surprised because I don’t use the other appliances very much.
But, I am using this bread maker!!!
I’ve had Cuisinart CBK-110 Compact Automatic Bread Maker for a while now, and for a while didn’t use it much just bought premade GF bread. I recently bought some mixes and it is less expensive and easy enough. I like the freshness of baked bread. I hate the hole in the center, and went looking for information on how to take out the mixer paddle. On the gluten-free setting, it has a 2-minute cycle, immediately followed by an 18-minute cycle for kneading. It does not have a rise cycle. All the rising is during the baking cycle. So right after the 18-minute cycle, the paddle can be taken out, from what I understand. YMMV, but I wanted to share this info. It would be nice if they would add a buzzer when it’s time to take out the paddle, but not too hard to set a timer.
I’ve used the Bob’s Red Mill mixes for raisin and white bread so far and the loaves are bigger than the tiny ones you get from store bought GF loaves that cost a fortune anyway. This way I don’t have to stock a bunch of different flours that are prone to go rancid. I still toast the bread before eating or making sandwiches, but I’m happy with it and it’s quite easy using the mixes. Just whisk together 3 liquid ingredients and add mix then the yeast on top. I plan to make white bread recipes using the mix and adding some other things, like olives, nuts, etc.
After reading lots of reviews on a variety of machines I took a chance and chose Zojirushi Plus. It has proved to be a real solid workhorse and real easy to use. The only problems I have had have been sub-par bread on occasion due to my own fault–measured wrong, used the wrong ingredients, experimented. I have learned to be a little freer with the machine–adding a little water or flour in the initial stage if the dough is not the consistency I want, using different liquids, making my own version of things–e.g., pannetone, garlic bread. Once you learn the basics do not be afraid to vary ingredients and measurements to your liking. One trick I learned is to reach in and take the paddle out after the machine does its final kneading, right before the final rising and baking. This way when you take the bread out you don’t have to take the paddle out and leave a big hole; you just have the small hole from the spindle. Highly recommended.
This is another wonderful Zojirushi product! This company truly knows how to design and manufacture great food and beverage stuff. I own the rice maker (use to cook oatmeal as well as rice), multiple hot / cold 20oz bottles for liquid, the Bento lunch set, and container to keep food items and and cold.
We originally purchased the larger bread machine. It was too much for us, – too big as far as required counter top space; too large, (2lb) loaves of bread; too noisy when working.
This 1 lb loaf maker is perfect for our empty nest. Also required less counter space and is quieter. Makes consistently fine bread. Everyone loves it and it is so easy to make. My experience has been Zojirushi items cost more. They are worth it. Better design and better functionality.v
I bought Zojirushi in 2010 and have used it on and off for the last 8 years, sometimes 4-5 times a week for months on end.
I use it only to make wholegrain or half wholegrain/half spelt bread. Each loaf is a perfect size for two people.
This machine looks as new as the day I bought it and just keeps on going. About 3 years ago I wrote to Zojurishi to ask about buying a new paddle .. which after 5 years showed a bit of fraying of the teflon coating. They sent me one for free. I might have to get another one replacement paddle soon for the same reason – but that is the only wear and tear I’ve noticed. I would rank this, along with my swiss army penknife as one of my favorite belongings. It’s certainly the most reliable appliance I’ve ever owned, and my favorite Amazon purchase of all time.
