The powerful dual suction draws contaminated air from both sides and pushes filtered air out the top of the unit for cleaner air. The Max2 filter captures and reduces up to 99.97 percent of particles in the air, including pollen, and other allergens. It also reduces more than 99 percent of volatile organic compounds and reduces fumes like ammonia. For those of you who like to do your own research, our experts have written a comprehensive Air Purifiers Buying Guide. This can help you review a lot of useful information, and select the best Air Purifiers to meet your needs.
After a month of owning the Coway Airmega 400 Smart I decided to but another unit, the Airmega 400S. Similar machines but the 400S comes with WiFi. I’m happy with both of them. The covered area for each is about 900 SF and I think they are doing a good job, for what pet allergies is the concern, which is my case. I never use them at the highest fan speed and I think they are fairly quite at mid speed, still moving plenty of air. At the lowest fan speed ( not to be confused with night speed ) the machine is very quite and still efficient for a bedroom of 2-300 SF, I think.
I don’t think it is very great in eliminating odors because it appears that the filters don’t have much carbon in it. According to some guidance I read on buying a purifier, the filter should hold about five pounds of carbon to be efficient in eliminating odors. In any case my only problem is is with cat dander allergies and I find this machine very helpful.
I got my Alexapure breeze yesterday. Setup was so easy. We have a big brown stinky dog and I left the Alexapure run all night and in the morning I was amazed how nice and clean the living room smelled. Even when it’s running at highest it is still pretty quiet. I love the auto feature that will adjust to your rooms air quality. I love this so far. If things change I will update here.
I’ve bought BreatheSmart over a year ago and absolutely love it! This air purifier runs everyday 24/7 and has helped greatly in reducing our allergies during allergy season and keeping down dog dander (we have 5 dogs, all shed). We also have a wood burning stove we use during the winter. The noise level is quiet, but as the filter becomes really dirty then the machine becomes noisier. Noise level returns to normal when the filter is replaced. We just replaced our filter, it lasted us a little over a year before it changed to yellow. One of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time!
I really like AIRMEGA 400 air purifier. I have had it for a few weeks now, and it keeps my house smelling great and it also gives me peace of mind. I have a new born and living with 3 dogs I was a little concerned about the air quality.
I clean all the time to keep the dog hair under control but after I purchased this air purifier my furniture looks great. I don’t find tons of “dust” all over my furniture anymore.
This machine has a “nose” that alerts you when something is wrong with the air. For example; if you burn your breakfast automatically the machine will alert you turning red at front. If you are dusting the house it turns purple letting me know that it is something Mildly wrong .
The house smells sooo fresh. I love it
We bought Oransi Max OVHM80 Air Purifier to help eliminate the fine dust and junk that was flying around our house during a recent remodel. It helped tremendously to clean the air, and we noticed the difference in the air quality within hours. It was definitely a smart purchase and we use it from time to time whenever we notice odors or flying particles during windy weather.
Aprilaire is the best large media filter out there in my opinion. I do use other large media filter systems when I encounter applications where they are not practical (not very often)
After having Alexapure 3049 Air Purifier for 9 months now I have decided to change my review to 5 stars. Most importantly, we can definitely tell a difference when we go anywhere that doesn’t have this thing (hotel, family member’s house, etc.). We recently moved (in the last two months) and when we first moved into our apartment it had this awful stagnant smell that we couldn’t get rid of but when we plugged this thing in (and I wanted to both test it and show my brother how well it worked) within 30 minutes the smell was out of the entire apartment (all 600sqft). You could have set a timer to it; it was really impressive to all of us who were present and I have been bragging about it since! I highly recommend this and we will be buying another one when we move into a bigger place. I could not imagine breathing without one now!
Aprilaire 2410 is a replacement for a very old air cleaner that was installed years ago before I purchased this home. It was simple for the heating contractor to retrofit and install the new air cleaner. The filters are a bit expensive but I am happy with the results.
So we have now owend our BreatheSmart for about 2 months. My wife and I couldn’t be happier. We live in a high rise building and have about 1200sq ft. We have placed the unit in such a way that it can pull the air from both large rooms at the same time. We noticed after only a few days how the amount of dust on the furniture diminished . My wife and I also had been having nose congestion and blowing our noses to no end for a few months, we think because of the dust. After about a week, no more sneezing, and after about 3 weeks, no more congestion. We have the unit running 24hours a day. I do notice in the early morning hours that the status light does go to blue, lowest setting, so I know that the sensor is definitely working. You do need to make sure to check and clean the PREFILTER about every 10 days , depending upon your situation. I just take a Dustbuster type vacuum and clean it in about 3 minutes. This is a MUST. I also invested in the better filter to capture more particles like mold, just to be sure. No, we don’t have mold, already tested for that. It was worth it to me. After spending this much for the system, another $50 for a better filter was a no-brainer. Don’t skimp on the heart of the system, the filter. No, its not overly noisy. If you want it to work, then it has to make some noise. If it really bothers you then take it off of automatic and drop the speed down a notch. I give it a 5 star rating and would recommend it to anyone in the same situation.
After an enormous amount of research, decided on this unit for a large open space ~1000’sq. Looks good, and feels of high build quality.
This purifier moves a lot of air on its Max setting, and you can feel the air movement from several feet away. It blows upward, so not a breeze like from a fan, but a gentle air movement circles the room. It’s also very quiet. In low you cannot hear anything, even standing beside the purifier. Medium adds a little white noise to the room. High is noticeable, but not a nuisance.
“Smart” air purifier boasting a high CADR, attractive unit, solid build quality, decent price, and dual 12-month HEPA filters make this a smart investment. Dual handles make this easily manoeuvrable.
I purchased the Coway Airmega 400S at a lower price compared to the regular 400, for reasons unknown to me. The “smart” feature that allows me to monitor and control the device remotely through an app is one of my favorite aspects. I have set up a timer using the app that runs the unit for an hour at a time, four times a day (6am-7am, 12pm-1pm, 6pm-7pm, and 12am-1am), on a continuous seven-day schedule. The unit operates in “Auto” mode, which adjusts the fan speed based on its built-in sensor that detects air quality.
Despite the unit’s cost and the noise it produces at higher fan speeds, I appreciate that it is effectively doing its job. Its appearance is sleek and stylish, and it seems to be well-built. The schedule I have set up takes care of itself, and I can check on the unit’s performance anytime from anywhere. Even though the unit operates for a short duration, it is working effectively for my needs. However, I can always adjust the timer settings if needed. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the Coway Airmega 400S.
I adore many aspects of this air filter, particularly its smart features. Initially, I believed these would be mere gimmicks, but after living with it for a few weeks, I have witnessed their value. I appreciate its ability to detect airborne contaminants and increase air circulation to purify the air. Notably, it boosts air flow during high traffic and vacuuming, among other activities. Additionally, I like that I can check the app for air quality and view past air quality. Moreover, the filter reduces airflow when it’s bedtime, reducing noise pollution for peaceful sleep.
Regarding its effectiveness, our new construction home spans nearly 3000 square feet and is about three years old. Most of our air contaminants likely arise from area construction and a year-round growing season, including pollen and similar pollutants. My oldest child has had a persistent “hack” for the past few years, although I would not classify it as a cough but rather a throat and lung clearing cough every few minutes. He did not seem short of breath, but it appeared as if he were clearing an irritant. We took him to doctors, who suggested various causes, including allergies and asthma. We ruled out asthma since he is athletic and does not exhibit any abnormal shortness of breath compared to other children. As someone who has suffered from asthma, his symptoms do not resemble asthma. Consequently, we opted to try daily allergy medications, which helped somewhat but did not eliminate his cough.
However, since we added this filter, we hardly ever hear him clearing his lungs. I’m surprised since I assumed it would take much longer to see an improvement. I thought he had been doing it for so long that it had become a habit. But after filtering the air for a few days, his symptoms reduced, and after a week or so, he hardly ever clears his lungs.
Although our home is almost double the size of the filter’s rated coverage area, I think the design of our house permits one unit to work. Our central air unit has only one air return, located at the blower unit centrally, upstairs in a closet with a vented door. The surrounding area is an open landing area that leads to a large family room. I think what happens is that the filter can purify significant volumes of air that get circulated throughout the house. The dirty air then flows back up to the open area, where the unit filters it. The unit can detect when the air is clean or dirty and adjust circulation accordingly. This seems to be a successful test, eliminating our primary concern. The side benefit is that the rest of our family now breathes cleaner, healthier air. It only took one sensitive family member to illustrate the need. I wish I had known this would solve the problem, and I wish I had done it sooner. I expected to need two units for success, but I’m delighted that one unit suffices. Different homes may not yield the same results; some may need two units.
Oransi Max OVHM80 air purifier picks a lot of the air particles as well as dust etc. i was suffering from sinus issues purchased this after performing deep clean on my room, the filter gets dirty very quick but i do run the purifier 24×7. i vacuum it and it cleans it but i may need replacement quicker than the manufacturer 1 year suggested.
the device is very sensitive to the changes in air quality, it would increase the speed as it auto detect air room changes.
I already owned a Coway Airmega 300 in my 3 bedroom 1700 sq foot condo but found it just wasn’t enough to keep the air clean. I ordered the Airmega 400 as it moves a fair bit more air and am happy with my purchase! They are a great air cleaner, whisper quiet and nice looking as well. The seller shipped the item quickly and although the box was delivered with damage, that I’m sure was done by UPS so I’m very happy with this purchase! Thanks Botley Store!
AIRMEGA 400 is well built very easy to set up and is very quite at low speeds. When the air quality recently deteriorated in EDmonton due to the smoke drifting from the wild forest fires, the LED on the machine switched on to Red and the fan speed increased to max. This lasted almost the entire day. Next day, as the smoke drifted off, the machine was back showing the blue LED and was functioning at slow speed. This proves that it does seem to work. Did it improve the quality of air in the room? That is anybodies guess. I have developed some air borne allergies which I had hoped would be alleviated by this machine. Does not seem to help the allergy symptoms.
I purchased the AiIRMEGA 300 during the Santa Barbara fires last December 2017, when the air quality was terrible for many weeks. It brought relief for my respiratory symptoms due to smoke issues even in my apartment. It has been operating continuously, 24/7, on the Smart Mode ever since. Two weeks ago it quit. I am extremely pleased with the excellent customer service provided by Chuck at Coway. This is a very responsive service supporting AIRMEGA products. After one initial phone call, all communication was by email and was prompt and very efficient. I was emailed a prepaid label to return the malfunctioning purifier via UPS. I received a brand new unit free of charge under my warranty.
