The most important feature of a TV for me is picture quality, and I have to say that the picture quality on this 65″ flat screen “smart” TV that I purchased 2 years ago is truly amazing!. It’s very easy to connect anything you want to it, and 4K UHD movies have intense colors and startling 3-dimensional depth. Even old movies and TV shows look awesome on this TV. I don’t know if it’s technically possible, but the picture seems to have gotten even better over time. I’ve actually stopped using cable and now just use my Amazon Fire stick with 4K UHD and a $30 high-definition antenna that plugs right in. It’s truly amazing! If you don’t have a Fire stick yet, I strongly recommend picking one up. The picture quality is even better than cable, and the variety of content is unbelievable.

Might have the best tv speakers I’ve ever heard! Gaming in 4k on here is amazing! Even the Roku feature on here is great! The Roku feature is very responsive with no lag! So yeah. My current TV is not inferior by any means. But the Samsung Q60 QLED blows away my current one. The picture quality is outstanding, it is nowhere near to any TV I’ve seen till today. The TV has tons of smart features. The Netflix app is very fast and snappy, And youtube loads very fast, changing TV channels are instant. Oh, my favorite feature, when I turn ON the TV, I can pickup exactly where I left off, isn’t that amazing. The app store has tons of apps. I’ve installed Vudu, Spotify and used them. The interface and feel is great. Last but not the least, is the black levels. I am a big fan of Dark Knight movies. And I regularly watch them. When I have to test the screen quality, I play this movie in 4K. The movie has lot of screens in the dark, and this TV is by far the most superior I have seen. The black is deep, and colors are vibrant, and screen is bright. Hands down, the best TV I’ve seen, and now I do own one, awesome!! I will surely recommend this TV to friends and family.
I bought this for a second tv in a smaller room. While it serves my purpose well, others may not like it’s quality/brightness and would rather get at least a Q70. That said, it’s the cheapest set u can get with QLED and while darker than the Q70 it is still very bright.
I received my Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA Flat 75″ QLED 4K and went to work adding it to the top of my home theater’s display chain.
After a few tweeks and minor adjustments I sat back and watched (in this order) some broadcast TV, couple of VCR tapes, a couple of DVDs, a small sampling of Blurays and lastly some home movies on flash drives. (I played the flash drive content through the Bluray player, not the TV’s USB slots)
The display is more than a little impressive. Standard definition content is made better, but not “wonderful”. DVD content is made better by leaps and bounds and bluray looks flat-out AWESOME. (I’ve yet to buy any 4K bluray disks and it’ll be a while till 8K disks come out, so no joy on THAT front….yet). The sound quality, using the TV’s built in speakers is drab and nothing to write home about (a good AV system is recommended)….but the display……well…

Attaching the legs was awkward, but I had a friend help me place it upright on the stand. When I turned it on, the set up menu was very easy to navigate and added my Samsung account through the Smart Things app. I also linked the TV to my Samsung phone. After set up, I added my satellite connection and some additional apps, then tuned in to a few TV shows. The picture is the sharpest I’ve ever seen, the color saturation is rich and well-balanced, and as far as sound, its so clear and precise that I may not add a sound bar right away. Ambient mode is fun! I tried several different backgrounds and played with colors. Transitioning between Ambient screens is seamless and it only pauses long enough to download your selections. With my added Blu-ray player, I tried 2 movies and also my movie and video apps and. The pictures were all sharp and clear. Watching with the lights both on and off, and the QLED adjusted the picture and lighting to match. I am more than happy with this Samsung QLED TV and the excitement it’s brought back to watching TV again. Next, I’ll add my gaming system to the TV and give it a try. Update: My daughter added her old PlayStation 2 to the QLED TV and played several of her games, like Tekken and The Fairly Odd Parents. The graphics and colrs are just stunning! The characters seem to jump out from the screen at us, and the sounds are much more clear than they were on our older TVs. We are loving this Samsung QLED TV!

Watching with the lights both on and off, and the QLED adjusted the picture and lighting to match. I am more than happy with this Samsung QLED TV and the excitement it’s brought back to watching TV again.
Next, I’ll add my gaming system to the TV and give it a try. Update: My daughter added her old PlayStation 2 to the QLED TV and played several of her games, like Tekken and The Fairly Odd Parents. The graphics and colors are just stunning! The characters seem to jump out from the screen at us, and the sounds are much more clear than they were on our older TVs. We are loving this Samsung QLED TV!
This replaced a lower end model 50” Samsung tv from 2015. I love the tv and picture. It has great features! Highly recommended.
ou have probably heard about all the great things about OLED TV’s picture quality and the truth is that it’s all true. I am a bit of a TV fanatic, especially when it comes to video and sound quality.
A month ago I purchased a 55″ LG C9 OLED TV to replace my aging Panasonic Plasma I had in my bedroom. I use a LG C7 OLED in my living room and these two OLED’s have fantastic pictures.
When I was offered the Sony A8G to review I was very excited. I had been looking at the A9F and was very impressed with that model but passed on it for the LG C9. Then I heard that the “G” series had just come out and was sporting a newer OLED panel and a better image processor than the “F” series. So when the A8G arrived I decided to put it to the test right away.
First of all I love the A8G form factor and design. It is as thin, sleek and has all the typical ports one would expect on a TV in this price range. The base pedal is really nice, it is adjustable from almost zero clearance at the bottom to high enough that you can fit almost any sound bar underneath it. The wall mount capabilities are excellent and it seems like it would be almost picture like against the wall.
VIDEO:
The Video out of the box is outstanding. Now before I go into detail let me explain, I am splitting hairs here when I compare these TV’s. On a Still or static image you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between any of the OLED TV’s. All the panels for the last two years are very close in quality. What you are getting with this newer TV panel is just a slight increase in the image quality on a static images. The real magic comes in with the image processors and how they deal with fast moving images and the quality in up scaling of 1080P and even old 480 SD images to 4K. Also Lag time for gaming gets better with each new generation.
The A8G is second in line to the A9G and has a slightly slower image processor, but it blows the doors off of all OLEDs that are even a year older.
For testing I used my nVidia shield TV playing high bit rate Demo files (580MB for 90 seconds of video). I used my 4K UHD copy of Pacific Rim and for live TV I used a Directv C61K 4K client receiver on channel 104 and 105 for the world cup.
The ability to clean up artifacts and motion issues on the Sony was outstanding. It blew away my LG C7 and was on par with my LG C9. Black levels were just as good as the C9 and better than the C7. I think color gradients was the surprising one. I found that the Sony had slightly better color gradients than the LG C9. It’s slight but enough that I could notice in the 4K demo files. The upscaling was very good with this TV, it was able to make 1080P material look extremely good and even helped the older SD material slightly more than the LG, which was a surprise. (480P is still not great, but you cant turn garbage into perfume). Digital artifacts and other picture issues were cleaned up nicely by the Sony and overall the picture is very impressive.
Audio:
I guess most people will be using a sound bar with a TV like this but if your not it’s good to know that Sony did an excellent job with the built in sound system. This model uses two screen vibrating speakers. I was dubious but they actually managed to keep the good clean sound quality, especially in the voice range and the rear subwoofers on this TV are actually very good.
Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this TV for someone looking to get the latest and greatest OLED. If you own an OLED that is two years old and are into high quality video you will see a really nice difference in picture quality. If your just a casual TV viewer you might not. As I said this OLED technology is getting to the point of splitting hairs.
If your coming from a Plasma TV, LED TV or an OLED TV that is three years or more in age this Sony will be a huge step up in black levels and color rendering and motion handling.
One last thing, I have never experienced burn in with any of my OLEDS. You really do not need to worry about burn in unless you do something incredibly stupid like leaving a static image on the screen for ten hours.
The smart features on their tv were a literal pain in the butt to get working properly. The tv could connect to the wifi BUT it would not reach the internet or Samsung servers. I had to dig super deep to figure out what the real problem was. Basically, my ISP, Comcast, uses DNS servers that do not connect with Samsung servers. Once I discovered that I went down a list of DNS servers and just tried and failed on several. Finally I got success with an OpenDNS at 208.67.222.222. I just assigned a static IP to my tv on my network then changed the DNS from auto to manual then input the address listed above. Instant connection, instant updates and I’m rolling. Hopefully this helps anyone with the same issue. You have to manage it in the network settings in the user interface on the tv menu. It’s a little wonky finding but once you do you’re golden. Good luck. Everything else has been good so far. I’m please with my picture!
My current TV is not inferior by any means. But the Samsung Q60 QLED blows away my current one. The picture quality is outstanding, it is nowhere near to any TV I’ve seen till today. The TV has tons of smart features. The Netflix app is very fast and snappy, And youtube loads very fast, changing TV channels are instant. Oh, my favorite feature, when I turn ON the TV, I can pickup exactly where I left off, isn’t that amazing. The app store has tons of apps. I’ve installed Vudu, Spotify and used them. The interface and feel is great. Last but not the least, is the black levels. I am a big fan of Dark Knight movies. And I regularly watch them. When I have to test the screen quality, I play this movie in 4K. The movie has lot of screens in the dark, and this TV is by far the most superior I have seen. The black is deep, and colors are vibrant, and screen is bright. Hands down, the best TV I’ve seen, and now I do own one, awesome!! I will surely recommend this TV to friends and family.
I wanted a smaller size tv for the bedroom and since they don’t currently make OLED tvs any smaller than 55″ I decided to get this 43″ QLED.
My main TV is a 65″ OLED and compared to that one, this QLED just looks OK. The blacks are noticeably gray, and the colors don’t pop quite as much. Perhaps my standards are just too high now that I’ve seen how nice an OLED looks. When LG comes out with their smaller OLEDs I’ll probably replace this one with that.
There’s a dedicated button on the remote which is for ambient mode. It shows pretty animated pictures and plays soothing music. I find this weird and have only noticed it because I’ve accidentally pressed the button several times.
The remote doesn’t have a backlight, but there’s not that many buttons so it’s relatively easy to memorize for situations whee you’re in the dark.
I’m a big user of chromecast, and interestingly enough I can cast content on YouTube and Netflix from my phone to the TV, but for Hulu and HBO, there’s no option to cast. I’m going to buy another chromecast to remedy this.
I have Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA Flat 75″ QLED 4K TV for about 3 weeks now. Nicely built. The picture is better than anything I have seen including the Sony 75′ Master series I tried for a week. Picture is well lit, vibrant color. Did see any pixel even a few inches from screen The fore front of picture is clear, woman skin is smooth and when they wear velvet it look like velvet . Audio is good.
But background is still fuzzy like my old 4K 55″ Sony. Sometime the grass in the back is still a green glob; lower quality video of the 70 is still blurred; U-tube 1950 documentary is still blurred !
Better than most TV now but it gives me a footstep to a 8K quality. May be Samsung will provide upgrades later through software.
I chose to purchase the latest version of this TV because it has four HDMI ports, which I needed. The shipping was very fast! I noticed that the TV stays powered on all the time because it immediately comes on when I turn it on. To prevent any power surges or brownouts from damaging the TV, I keep it plugged into an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) like I do with my computers. This ensures that the TV never experiences any power outages, which can harm electronics. I did not grade the TV for Alexa compatibility because I don’t believe it had that feature in 2019. However, I use a Firestick which has voice-controlled Alexa, so it was not necessary for me. The TV is big, bright, and beautiful! The setup process was a bit tedious because it’s a smart TV and it wants to ensure all available resources are set up for optimal enjoyment. It automatically recognizes most devices, but I did have a small issue with it recognizing a Firestick. It’s important to note that this TV only has HDMI inputs – no component or AV inputs. The picture is very clear, and I’m looking forward to trying out the 4K capabilities. The legs on the TV are very wide apart, and I didn’t realize this when I purchased it. If the legs do not work for you, I recommend purchasing an aftermarket pedestal TV stand that attaches to the back of the TV. The TV is quite heavy, weighing 58 pounds, so be sure to choose a stand that can support the weight. I had to modify the top of my TV cabinet to accommodate the wide legs.
I absolutely love this TV! It has a perfect combination of performance and features at a reasonable price point. Instead of going into the technical specs, I wanted to share my personal experience with the TV’s features and setup.
Firstly, I mounted the TV on the wall with the help of a Cheetah APTMM2B mount, which I purchased from Amazon. It worked flawlessly and kept the TV very close to the wall. However, the 75″ TV is quite heavy, so it required two people to lift and set it up with the cables in one go. Once the TV was up, it was quite challenging to plug in an HDMI cable. Therefore, I used the DataComm Electronics 50-3323-WH-KIT to hide the wiring in the wall, which included the power cord, three HDMI cables, and a LAN cable. The installation resulted in a great, clean look, and I attached a picture of it for you to see.
The TV is an entry-level product in the QLED line, but I think it displays a beautiful picture, especially compared to the old LCD TV that it replaced. I calibrated the TV with the settings available on rtings.com, and it looks fantastic. I tested 4k content with The Mandalorian after easily installing the Disney+ app from the TV’s menus. I was amazed by the picture quality – the colors are excellent, and the brightness is more than acceptable. However, I haven’t compared it to the higher-end Samsung QLEDs side by side.
I thought I would hate the minimalist remote control that comes with the TV and go back to using my Logitech Harmony, but I was wrong! After using it for a little while, I fell in love with the little remote. The remote, paired with the well-thought-out menus, makes an excellent combination. Samsung has done an incredible job with it, and I think it all makes sense once you put it into use. The remote does an excellent job of combining all of your devices into one remote, without all the extra buttons.
Ambient mode is a fun feature to play with when the TV is not in use. It’s essentially just a screensaver that can display while you stream music or when the TV is just idle. It has some really nice designs, and it is highly customizable to match your room decor and colors. You can even take a picture of the wall the TV is on, and the Smart Things app will adjust everything accordingly.
Finally, the setup and configuration can be done with the remote and/or the Smart Things app. I used both, and the process was quite self-explanatory. The quick setup guide wasn’t very useful, in my opinion, but I managed just fine. It’s similar to setting up a new smartphone with a step-by-step guide. The TV manual is mostly found in the apps on the TV. I did run into a problem with the cable box device install at first. It detected the device just fine, but the remote didn’t control the cable box after the setup was complete. After a quick Google search, I found that uninstalling and reinstalling the device after the setup was complete helped fix the issue. Once I did that, everything worked perfectly.
Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with this TV, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new TV.
