Dyson Cyclone V10 is the best vacuum I’ve ever owned. Great for pet hairs and works equally well on the different types of floors.
I agree, Dyson Cyclone V10 is the best but is a little pricey. There are other cheaper options that work equally well from Bisselle and Shark but their battery life is not as good.
We’ve been using Dyson Cyclone V10 for over a year and it’s completely changed the way I clean our small house. I was set on getting a cordless stick vacuum and ended up changing my mind basically on a whim, and I’m so glad about this choice. Before this we had a decent vacuum that was heavy and always smelled dusty because it was hard to clean, and I dreaded vacuuming. But this exceeded expectations, especially for the cost, and the first time we used it we were truly shocked at how much dust and pet hair our previous vacuum had missed. Like, couldn’t decide whether it was amazing or horrifying. I really like the narrow profile and swivel for getting around furniture. It works really well on our hardwood floors as well as our carpet. I have three very minor complaints about this design: 1) debris tends to get caught along the left side of the canister, which takes away from what’s otherwise a super easy process to clean it out; 2) you can’t detach the hose from the base without fully unwinding the cord, which is occasionally annoying; 3) it’s fairly top-heavy, so my toddler can push it over easily if he can get to it.

My wife and I love Dyson Cyclone V10 vaccum. We have dark hardwood floors and the led light shows everything, but takes care of it quickly and efficiently. We have been doing some remodelling and the shark rocket even handles light sawdust easily.
Only complaint is that the attachments on the ‘neck’ of the vaccum fall off sometimes when vaccuming but they can just go in the closet if they arent needed. Does as advertised and didnt break the bank.
Corded, but we prefferred that until Elon Musk frees us all from crappy batteries.
I love Dyson Cyclone V10! I maintaIns my weekly cleaning exceptionally!
On the downside it does get stuck a bit and doesn’t like even small black stripes on my area rug, nor my dark gray area rug, but it maneuvers around them ok…
Now do they make a robot that dust? Scrubs bathtubs and Toilets? Maybe folds and puts laundry away? Lol
Great buy in my opinion my floors never looked better!
I’m am the least tech savvy person and I got it to work! Somehow? I wouldn’t want to set up for someone else I wouldn’t have the patience to… I forgot to mention the mopping feature! I love it too! Again maintains weekly well my floor will still need a Good scrubbing from time to time but not nearly as much/bad as before!
I’ve had Dyson Cyclone V10 since september. It does a good job. We have tile floors and the mopping feature even works. It’s not a great mop but it’s good enough. My issue with it is that it’s constantly getting stuck under our island or the dishwasher. Which has caused a whole bunch of scratches on top of the robot. It says that it collects mapping of the room. I wish it would notice that it gets stuck there, so it should avoid it. I even tried getting the magnetic strip to prevent it from going under there but it still does. I have to put the strip like way in front of those spaces for it to avoid it. Because I do a nightly cleaning, I don’t want to leave those ugly strips in my kitchen 24/7 or have to put them down every night. I’m at a loss of what to do. Almost every morning, I wake to it stuck under one of those spaces. If it didn’t do that, it would be a great vacuum. Now I have a $300 vacuum that’s completely scratched up and nothing to do about it.
Bought my first cordless Dyson Cyclone V10 vacuum with low expectations, I was skeptical that it could handle 4 cats and a dog. Well, I am glad to say I was wrong! My floors have never been this clean, it literally inspires me to keep the rest of the house even cleaner! Make sure you empty it after every use, the first few uses, or if it is really dirty, you may want to stop it and empty it a few times during cleaning. If the bin is full, and can’t clean up more stuff. I usually run it twice a day. I also make sure to clean the rollers very often, and clean/replace the filter. Use a microfiber cloth to clean it. I had it get stuck on the edge of a rug, make sure all throw rugs are low cut, and the edges are not rolled up. It also is suppose to stop and turn around if it feels strong sunlight, but mine just stops, and beeps, I have to go pick it up and move it, and turn the power button on and back off on the bottom of the machine, then it is good to go! So I try and make sure the blinds are down when it runs. So my best advise it it clean it often! The cleaner you keep it, the better it will work! *update- 30 days later it still cleans great, but is getting much louder, and has a constant tick tick but squeak noise, roughly 4 revolutions( ticks) per second, kind of like a old train sound ( chug-chug-chug- chug fast rhythm) it is not the wheels, they have been popped out, and cleaned. Cannot find where it is coming from, so at a loss. Have reached out to manufacturer today. We will see what they say.
I ordered Dyson Cyclone V10 to replace my 8 year old bissel pet hair eraser vacuum. I have two dogs that shed A LOT. The main reasons I purchased this item was the hepa filter and the fact that the filters were washable.
This vacuum is lighter in weight than my old vacuum and pushes easily. Removing the waste canister is easy but I do find that i need to sometimes help the hair and dirt to fall out. It has great suction and does a really great job of picking stuff up.
The footprint of the vacuum seems slightly smaller than my old vacuum. Basically not as wide at the roller area which may mean that it takes slightly more time to go over all of the carpet. I didn’t measure it but it might be an inch smaller in width than what I’m used to.
I read a review where someone mentioned there was no height adjustment for the roller/beater brush but actually it’s an automatic thing based on a little sliding piece on the back of the vacuum. For plush carpet the slide should be open and for hard floors or lower pile carpet you close the slide. There’s a button to turn the beater off as well. Unlike my old vacuum is something gets wrapped around the beater it will stop itself instead of causing damage and burning up the motor. I really like this feature.
The hand held pet hair tool with the smaller beater brush works off of suction as is typical. As long as you don’t press down hard onto the fabric then the brush continues to spin. Anyone that complains that the spinning stops isn’t using the tool correctly. That much pressure isn’t needed.
Overall this is a great vacuum and I’d buy it again.
I got this vacuum cleaner to replace a much more expensive Dyson ball vacuum.
To be honest, I’m a bit spoiled by the Dyson ball system, which makes it really easy to move the vacuum into small spaces. The Dyson also a bit more power.
But it’s also twice as expensive and this one cleans just as well. The filter works great.
In addition, the attachments are easy to use (much easier than the stiff one on the Dyson, which always gets kinked).
In short, if you have the money to spare, get a Dyson. If you just want a great vacuum at a reasonable price, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Very impressed with Bissell AirRam 1984 thus far. I was skeptical considering how so many products claim to be the best at pet hair removal. However, the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser removed stuff from our carpeting that our old vacuum didn’t even touch.
Just so whoever may read this knows, my wife and I have 2 dogs. One that doesn’t shed hardly at all, and a Yellow Lab that makes up for it. We own darker brown cloth furniture and gray/tan carpeting. Hardwood floors in the kitchen, tile flooring in the entryway, and plush white carpeting (previous owners of the house did that – – I have no idea) in the upstairs bedroom. Anyone who has owned a lab knows that their hair has a wonderful ability to “weave” itself into fabric to the point where it’s plenty visible but very difficult to remove. We’ve tried several techniques over the years starting with scotch tape and finally coming across a small, portable vacuum with a rubberized attachment for pet hair. That has worked great for us but we needed something that would work for the whole house, and our current “pet hair vacuum” just wasn’t cutting it. Not to mention that my wife’s hair (although beautiful) posed another struggle as it too would get tangled-up on the roller to the point where cutting it off was more trouble than it was worth.
So, I read a lot of reviews on a couple different models from different manufacturers and although each made a strong case, it was the “tangle-free” design of Bissell’s roller, along with the design of the canister that sold me. I went ahead and also ordered several filter replacements at the same time, including a couple “Febreeze” filters…which are awesome.
Of course, time will tell if these points prove me wise or let me down. For now however, I would recommend this product to anyone with at least one dog that sheds.
Impressive little helper.
Dyson Cyclone V10 goes in areas I never went myself. Really clever programming. Amazing suction.
I does get stuck once in a while if I forget things on the ground. Actually the neatest feature is that it forces me to clean up any clothes off the ground on a daily basis avoiding the clutter.
I never use more than 40 percent of the battery and he does his roughly 60m square cleaning area in one hour.
Amazing with carpets. For my fluffy carpet the suction is so strong it does comb the carpet at each passage a bit like when you trim the grass.
Mopping is nice but not as good as a good old Mop. I use it sometimes but a really reflective surface it might let stains.
Really positive. Coming back every day to a clean floor is amazing
So far an excellent vacuum! I have one german shepherd and one border collie, both living in the house. I have only used this vacuum twice but it is a powerhouse, so far. I have not had to clean the roller and it leaves the carpets soft and very clean. I have cream colored carpets in the bedrooms of my home and both dogs are primarily black, so I can say with confidence that this vacuum works like magic. I have gone through shark and dyson vacuums, previous to this one. Both were also nice but this one works just as well, if not better, so far, and for the money. I just hope it continues to perform this well. A couple of things to note (why I gave this floor cleaner 4 stars): You will have to bend over to change settings for carpet pile/bare floor height as well as there is a separate dial to manually change from floor sweeper to hose suction. This takes a little getting used to but I am thinking possibly leaves more room for the suction alone to be more effective. Like I said, it just takes getting used to. It is an initial annoyance but for as good as the vacuum is working so far, I can deal with it.
On the plus side, this vacuum has a nice long cord, employs great suction, does not kick debris out the back when vacuuming hard floors, comes with great attachments, operates with a replacable febreze filter that makes the house smell lovely, was easy to assemble, and has a long hose for getting into small spaces.
Overall, I’m happy with Dyson Cyclone V10. Pros and cons:
Pros:
Cleans really good
Easy to switch the different settings for your different needs
Swivels very easily
Not loud
Good price for a main brand good quality vacuum.
Filters easy to clean.
Cons:
I see what other reviewers are saying about how it topples over easily when using the hose. Very annoying.
Cord is not long enough. It’s slowing me down having to re-plug the cord for every room.
As someone who had always been used to a vacuum with a bag, seeing the dirt in the clear canister and having to dump it out is really gross.
I just finished vacuuming my house for the first time with Dyson Cyclone V10. It has a special setting for area rugs and hard floors…. the bar still rotates but at a slower rate so debris doesn’t get tossed everywhere…. amazing!
the vacuum can maneuver itself everywhere in my home and it was so easy to do my stairs and get under my bed, something I was unable to do with my previous upright.
The suction is out of this world. I never thought I would have my life changed by a vacuum.
There are concerns on here about the small cannister but I enjoyed emptying it and analyzing the copioys amounts of dust that my previous vacuum left behind.
It comes with so many tools as well that were not mentioned in the ad.
I was sooo excited to get Dyson Cyclone V10! Loved the reviews and design so badly! At first, I was very sutissfied with its power and efficiency, loved how clean my carpet looked afterwords. I guess my expectations and believe in its exceptional performance made me wear pink glasses for a while and do not see that this vacuum is not working on the carpets.
I have carpet everywhere. It might work for hard wood. But the vacuum couldn’t pick up a single thread and a nail-size dry leaf from the carpet…
I’m going to return it, so sad with that, but if it doesn’t clean the carpet as I expected it to – no point of keeping it.
I wonder if anybody else had the same bad carpet cleaning experience with xiaomi..?
Dyson Cyclone V10 is a great little vacuum and my family uses it all the time. It might be better than any other in it’s price range and has given good service for quite some time now. But it’s developed a problem with losing it’s suction that keeps repeating itself. Taking it apart isn’t that hard. The plastic adornments pry off and reattach better than I thought they would. The components inside go back together pretty intuitively too. Suction is created with an internal fan mechanism, and I’ve discovered that a surprising amount of junk finds its way into the mechanism that I would have otherwise supposed would be better sealed off. (Perhaps it was, and my situation was caused by the hard life my family has given this thing) In any event, I’m becoming more familiar with the guts of this thing than I feel I should be, and the patient has recovered nicely after each surgery. I’m not complaining — just sharing my experience with a machine which costs just too much to be considered a throwaway.
We love Dyson Cyclone V10 vacuum. It can be used with its attachment that has a rotating brush to pick up and remove the most stubborn pet hair, or you can press a button to take that attachment off and use strictly suction to pick up dust balls, debris, etc. that don’t need a brush beater bar.
We use it every day on our bed. My dogs get on my bed during the day and shed. I can’t leave that hair there and get in the bed to sleep, so we just take the vac off its charging cord and use it with its brush attachment to vacuum the blanket free of pet hair and dirt. (You’d be amazed at what comes out of the reservoir that collects what you vacuum!) It’s super easy to empty the container that catches what’s vacuumed up as well. Press a button to snap it off, pull out the filter part, and shake it and/or scrape/tap the contents off the filter and out and into the trash can. Snap it back on, plug it back in, and it’ll be ready for you the next time you need it.
Red light blinks while you’re waiting for it to charge fully. Green light that blinks periodically means it’s fully charged.
We charged this fully when it arrived before using it the first time and have had no problems since. It runs more than long enough for the basic needs we have in a house for a hand vac here and there.
Absolutely no complaints here! Well worth the few extra dollars it costs compared to other similar hand vacuums. Definitely an example of getting what you pay for and brand recognition meaning quality. If you have a pet and are thinking of getting a cordless hand vac, this is the one for you.
